Rebecca Harrigal has been with the IRS for over 24 years and has 20 years of experience with tax exempt bonds. She became the director in October 2013. Previously, she worked in the IRS office of Chief Counsel, where she most recently served as the Deputy Associate Chief Counsel (Financial Institutions and Products). In Counsel, Rebecca also served as a front-line manager, including serving as the branch chief of the tax exempt bond branch and she served as an attorney advisor, working on tax exempt bond matters. Before joining the IRS, Rebecca was an attorney with Morgan, Lewis & Bockius. Rebecca graduated, summa cum laude, from the University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelor of Science in Business and earned her JD, magna cum laude, from Georgetown University Law School. She is a member of the Order of the Coif and was a Lead Articles Editor for The Tax Lawyer. |
